about

This was our first release: a full 12 minutes of psychedelic groove: telling the journey of a boogie band who decide to fly to Washington to put The Man straight.

lyrics

Please to meet you, Mr President

Drifting.
Feel the baseline lifting
Feel that purpose.
Feel the heart.
The bassdrum kicks And it's just the start.
I'm talking music, coz there's no precedent
When the Boogie Band go to meet the President
So the bass makes me as the snare drum shakes me
Into a state where the guitar takes me
Before we leave we must discuss
Amongst all gathered and those we trust
Just how the guitar should parry and thrust
Into the night can go on, but remember
The plane leaves at dawn

I never thought about it much before
And I know frigging why
Thirty-seven thousand thousand feet
Is pretty frigging high
You better be sat on something safe
That high in the sky
Because thirty-seven thousand feet
Is pretty frigging high
I'm talking music, coz there's no precedent
When the Boogie Band go to meet the President
I'm talking music, coz there's no precedent
When the Boogie Band go to meet the President

The bass moving on now, says don't you be long now
You know just what to say, you just don't know how
Should we be blue? Should we be diplomatic
Should we be angry
Should we just be our fantastic selves?
Should we be angry. No!
Should we feel anger? Now that we can discuss

So we assemble for the Boogie Band Lear Jet
25 people join the jet set
Hey man I can't live with this carbon footprint
Let's try a boat because this imprint
Is out of control and here's a hint
QE2 is not just our monarch
It's also a big ship that we could stomach
Without the snobbery, we'll travel steerage
For all those Kris-chords, boy, you'll a peerage

I never thought about it much before
And I know frigging why
Thirty-seven thousand thousand feet
Is pretty frigging high
You better be sat on something safe
That high in the sky
Because thirty-seven thousand feet
Is pretty frigging high
I'm talking music, coz there's no precedent
When the Boogie Band go to meet the President
I'm talking music, coz there's no precedent
When the Boogie Band go to meet the President

And all the time we're flying over the Atlantic Ocean
The reality hits us hard: And causes a commotion
Put down that glass of wine, my man. Because there is no
precedent, for when the Boogie Band go
To meet the President
And the little bit of space
Between the drummer sitting pretty
And downright funky bass?
With gals on drums
And firesticks too.
Then I come back down to earth
As the airport starts to slow

We were met at Washington DC
By thousands of screaming girls
But they the were there for Madonna's hairdresser
Who'd sold his story to the News of the World
However the limo's were waiting
Dick Cheney sat in the back
I gave him a quick Harlow-Handshake
We tied him up and dumped him the boot
We now got in the back for champagne and the craic
Threw the cigars to the bums at the lights
And all the bags of those disgusting brown pretzels
It was becoming a helluva night

I never thought about it much before
And I know frigging why
Thirty-seven thousand thousand feet
Is pretty frigging high
You better be sat on something safe
That high in the sky
Because thirty-seven thousand feet
Is pretty frigging high
Into Babylon we are driving. And we're not buying
Into the bullshit: that we are dying for your country.
For your state it's only you. And I hate
To make you unhappy. To make you sad.
This drum and face gonna make you mad

Jim and Kris were going barefoot
Luke said he's gonna play the drums
Like the The Little Drummer Boy does for Jesus
But louder and longer and stronger
"Have you got your guitar?" I asked Jim
"Maybe" he said humming Mass
Then he whipped out a wah-wah Faith put down her Chihuahua,
Which she was using' to polish her sax
Dazza was checking the gear like he does
I was reading my notes like a stiff
When Kris said: "Hey guys. Be here now!
And do you fancy ago on this bifta?"

I never thought about it much before
And I know frigging why
Thirty-seven thousand thousand feet
Is pretty frigging high
You better be sat on something safe
That high in the sky
Because thirty-seven thousand feet
Is pretty frigging high
I'm talking music, coz there's no precedent
When the Boogie Band go to meet the President
I'm talking music, coz there's no precedent
When the Boogie Band go to meet the President
Dazza's having second thoughts
It might be a trap
They'll find two keys in Lukes snare drum
And he'll have to take the

Diplomatic immunity invoked,
Luke's released just in time
So the Boogie Band head for their meeting
With everything in rhyme.
The guitar's and the keys in tune
The drums sound big and dandy
The time has come at last boys
When we have to earn our Candy
To sell out or to fail Or as Jack said just: "To try!"
To be or not to friggin be. Live not frigging die
So let us raise our glasses,
Because there is no precedent
This is the Boogie band…….
Please to meet you Mr President……..

I never thought about it much before
And I know frigging why
Thirty-seven thousand thousand feet
Is pretty frigging high
You better be sat on something safe
That high in the sky
Because thirty-seven thousand feet
Is pretty frigging high
I'm talking music, coz there's no precedent
When the Boogie Band go to meet the President
I'm talking music, coz there's no precedent
When the Boogie Band go to meet the President

Anyone got some questions that we can put
Right to the Man when he is stood
Right in front of the Boogie Band
A Bill Hicks DVD in my right hand
(Some thoughts just feel so good
You'd stay there forever, if you only could)
